Well this might be the fastest I’ve seen one move. It’s a porcupine zoomie. 🤭 Until it gets to the bridge of course, then it’s all business.

When spring rolls around I’m always excited to see if past animals will again visit. Sometimes they seem to disappear for seasons on end, especially foxes, coyote, and bobcats. I wonder if they’ve moved to a new territory or perhaps didn’t survive the winter.
So I was quite happy to see Baby Porcupine, who is now a year old, rumbling down the trail and crossing Porcupine Bridge like an old pro. 😊
When I rewatch my trailcam videos I occasionally spot something I missed the first time.

Mother Porcupine has grown quite large so my wife is planning on widening #PorcupineBridge to accommodate Mom’s… ampleness. 😊 In the meantime, enjoy a large porcupine carefully going across a bridge so she doesn’t get her paws wet. 🥹
Shenanigans at #PorcupineBridge! Keep your eye on the left side of the screen where the little stream is. Right away you see 2 little eyes bopping along in the water coming right at you. Now look to the bottom right to see it continuing, hopping to the right, then, like a laser, darting back and straight into a plant, loud enough to draw the porcupine’s interest! 🫨 I slowed down the end of the video to see it clearer.

Seems we had a family “tiff” at #PorcupineBridge. Having watched it a few times it seems youngster wanted to nurse and Mom wasn’t much into that? 😂

It seems we have a bold one! Baby Porcupine (more like Toddler Porcupine) ventured out without mom, during the day. Maybe it’s just practicing going over Porcupine Bridge but I think this one is going to be a HANDFUL. 😂
