今天看了蕭伯納的《Mrs. Warren's Profession》。看之前以為是女性主義劇本，或是像《天上再見》那種荒誕諷刺的喜劇，結果看完冷汗不止。

這部劇簡直「全員惡人」，除了 Praed 這個小白。最讓我心驚的是結尾：Vivie 為了逃離母親，最後竟然選擇把自己關在辦公室週末瘋狂加班。這哪裡是獨立？這不是從賣春的坑掉進了資本剝削的坑嗎？

舞台設計很有靈氣，尤其是那群穿白衣少女的群演。她們像是一種視覺隱喻：Kitty 一家的富貴全是少女們的肉體墊出來的；又像是一群白衣亡靈，註定要纏繞這家人一輩子。

說實話，Vivie 真該跟著 Praed 去義大利看藝術，在教堂裡大哭一場。就像《可憐的東西》（Poor Things）裡的 Bella 在亞歷山大城那樣大哭，哭過之後，她的靈魂或許就不會活得這麼割裂了。蕭伯納這老頭，心是真的狠。

最後忍不住吐槽日版翻譯，把 Cambridge Newnham 這麼有象徵意義的地方直接翻譯成「女子學院」，真的太簡略了！這讓身為校友的珍·古道爾情何以堪？
