Because of my #union, I have had enjoyed a #livingwage, #healthcare, and a viable #pension. But the US is #1 in personal bankruptcies, gun-related deaths, and homelessness & incarceration rates. The #PoorPeoplesCampaign addresses these issues head-on—and that's why I'm involved.

The Maryland #poorpeoplescampaign and Baltimore community as a whole have just lost another justice warrior --and impacted member-- Evangeline Diggs. For decades before PPC, Ms. Van, as she is affectionately known, fought for the rights of Baltimore residents. As she says, even though tired, we must keep on fighting. We love you, Ms. Van! Rest in Power! #fightpovertynotourseniors #forwardtogetherforever
MD PPC conveys news that saddens us enormously. As you may have already heard, our beloved David Mott has passed on from our planet; leaving a legacy to be proud of. He filled so many shoes w/the #PoorPeoplesCampaign.
While other orgs have already shared their memories of David, ours took time as Tri-Chair Mike Puskar was creating a video compilation, including previously unreleased footage of David performing "The Long Black Veil" in Rockville this very day, 12/20/23.
