Here's an interesting idea. Short, dual scale guitar tuned in 5ths like a viola.
F2-E5
22" scale length for the bottom three.
18" for the top three. 3rd string possibly flatwound. Top two would have to be plain.

This extends the range by one string both higher and lower while having 24 frets/stops provides even higher range. How useful VS ear bleeding playing up that high is, I'm not sure. lol

Any shorter is too short. 22" is ¾ scale length. Having less than 24 notes bothers me. 😾
