Actress Polly Holliday has died at 88. Holliday is best known for her roles as wise-cracking waitress Flo on 1970s sitcom "Alice" and its spin-off, "Flo", and as mean Mrs. Deagle in 1984's "Gremlins". In addition to her film and TV career, Holliday appeared on stage and was Tony-nominated in 1990 for her performance in 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".

#RIP #PollyHolliday, who as Flo in the '70s sitcom "Alice" made "kiss my grits!" into a national catchphrase. "Alice" was one of those series like "Night Court" and "The Drew Carey Show" where I didn't like it very much, yet I've seen most of the show's original run, because of there literally being nothing else on during my pre-cable, pre-internet youth.
