IRS Commissioner Billy Long is being shifted to ambassador to Iceland. These moves come after rocky tenures in their previous positions. Trump seems to prefer keeping his loyalists close rather than firing them. During his first term, Trump saw high staff turnover, but now he focuses on retaining proven supporters. The White House says it a “tremendous honor” to be an ambassador and says that is “why these positions are highly coveted and reserved for the president’s most loyal supporters.”
