Polar Bear Capital of the World 🐻‍❄️

Did you know? Churchill, Manitoba is known as the 'Polar Bear Capital of the World.' Each fall, hundreds of polar bears migrate toward Hudson Bay, passing through the town as they wait for the sea ice to form. This natural phenomenon draws wildlife enthusiasts from across the globe to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. 🇨🇦 #Canada #Manitoba #PolarBears

Where did all the ice go T-shirt

A T-shirt from our Scientist and Philosopher range. There is currently a crisis with the world’s large ice masses. In the Arctic the loss of sea ice could lead to the extinction of polar bears. The melting is all due to humanity’s burning of fossil fuels and the loss of ice can lead to a feedback loop since ice reflects more radiation than does the darker open water.

THE ARCTIC - BEYOND THE ICE

The Arctic is transforming from an impenetrable ice barrier into a dynamic, contested frontier due to human-induced climate change. A lone polar bear on a shrinking ice floe represents the literal evaporation of the traditional Arctic, rewriting the rules of geography, biology, and global trade.

We’re losing more than just ice in the Arctic T-shirt

Unisex version of our Scientist and Philosopher, We’re losing more than just ice in the Arctic T-shirt. The Arctic has warmed far more than many other parts of the world and in many ways its ecosystems are more fragile than those areas. We not only risk losing many species and in doing so seeing ecosystems break down but there are additional dangers for many species including us humans. It has been found that there are many dormant forms of bacteria and viruses that are capable of returning as the permafrost melts. We continue to burn fossil fuels at our and many other forms of life’s peril. (S&P)

Wapusk: The Polar Bear Nursery

Wapusk National Park, whose name means 'White Bear' in Cree, protects one of the world's largest polar bear maternity denning areas. Each year, pregnant polar bears dig dens in the permafrost to give birth. The park's remote location and strict access restrictions are essential for protecting these vulnerable mothers and cubs during their first critical months. #Canada #Wapusk #PolarBears #Manitoba 🇨🇦
