Making slow progress in Pokémon Lazarus. It can be a tad annoying, as the frequency of Confusion or Paralysis triggering seems to be increased. Also catch rates are really low. But they know this and there is a cheat for that. Anyway, onwards…

Rolled credits on Pokemon Odyssey. Managed to muffle through with this ragtag bunch, not very well balanced but not entirely terrible either. Satisfying end battles that were challenging but not stupidly unfair. A great experience overall.

please recommend me some starters for my radical red nuzlocke!!!

i've been playing with mudkip which is fun but after like 15 attempts it gets a bit boring though he is really good

(radical red has starters from gen 1 to gen 9)

Speaking of rom hacks, I'm currently on Attempt 2 of Radical Red. Full disclosure, because the game is so difficult, I'm playing it similarly to how the youtubers are doing it. That means encounters are randomized without similar strength, abilities also randomized, I'm using docs, as well as I'm allowing myself as many encounters as possible. This doesn't mean I can catch all the Pokemon in a route, but it means I can catch 1 in the route as well as 1 in the den (if there is one), as well as allowing all gift Pokemon or eggs.

When (and if!) I do manage to beat Radical Red like this, I'll definitely try to play it "the legit way" too. But if I can't do it this way, I wouldn't be able to do it normally either.

First run ended at the double battle in Silph Co. For a first attempt, not that bad, I'd say.

Would anyone be interested in me posting the teams I use to beat important battles? For Attempt 2, this would mean only from the rival battle at Nugget Bridge onwards, because I already beat the first 3 bosses and I don't have screenshots of who I used to win. Might do it either way

, but I'll use a CW and specify it's Radical Red, so you can avoid it if not interested.

Anyone else into Pokemon rom hacks? Nuzlocke or otherwise. I've played a lot over the years.

The two I have the most nostalgia for are Glazed and Dark Rising (for the latter, specifically the first game. I believe there's like 3 or so now). I used to have a friend back then who also played rom hacks, and these 2 are the ones we played together whenever we met, so to this day I remember the games quite well.

What I find funny is that these two games couldn't be more diametrically opposed. Glazed was absolutely incredible and Dark Rising was absolutely horrible
