Don’t be basic. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

The first single from “20th Century Paddy”, a #ShaneMacGown tribute album, is out. It’s the #BruceSpringsteen cover of “A Rainy Night in SoHo.” Not bad, but I prefer the original #Pogues
version. I suspect that’s how I’ll feel about the whole record. Still, I look forward to listening to it.
I see #TomWaits is also contributing. Could it be any song but “Hells Ditch”?

He auditioned twice, he said. The second time, Mr. MacGowan and Mr. Finer told him that he would be allowed only two drums, a snare and a floor tom, and that he would have to stand when playing them. “No cymbals,” he recalled them telling him, “but you can have a saucepan lid.”

Genau das Märchen, das wir jetzt brauchen. Nicht nur in New York.
Starting our annual Xmas Pogues marathon here, starting with Red Roses for Me, of course.
