@wikinaut

Crazy.

systemd 255 Released With A "Blue Screen of Death" For Linux Systems

@forrestguid #PipeWire - like #SystemD - fixes a lot of issues and I think it's unfair that people literally harass people like #Poettering that do this vital yet thankless work.

People should be thankful that people like him put up with toxic trash of Stallmanists and Haters, because I would've reconsidered if the pay to do so is good enough.

@linear Debian 11 will still have 10 months of regular security support, then LTS and ELTS, but I’m not yet sure what will be afterwards (Debian 12 is poetteringified too much already, and they’re actively investing into breaking nōn-#Poettering use cases for what will become #Debian 13, so I’d probably be a bit wary of installing it fresh for something you’ll want to run for more than six years or so, unless you plan on doing security support afterwards yourself.

tbh I’m probably looking at #NetBSD as long-term replacement even for $dayjob or maybe #OpenBSD.

@debacle @zakiuem @disabled @gamercat @ubuntu #Devuan is just a #hategrooming bubble against #Poettering.
#systemd is just their pretext to do so.

I just think that Devuan is an utter waste if time and personnel hours.that could've been spent way better on making #Linux generally better...

Cuz I've yet to see anyone wanting #SystemVinit back.
Not even #Oracle / #Sun want it in #Solaris (#SMF) nor #Apple in #macOS (#LaunchD)...
