#Poecilotheria are ranked 3rd behind #Stromatopelma and #Heteroscodra in toxicity.
Just be smart with them, take precautions at all times regardless of experience, and understand that they are always unpredictable.
I keep only two species - Poecilotheria regalis and metallica. Both females. I am lucky that both of them are fairly visible as well. I have never even once seen any defensive behaviour from either of them.

This is a shot of the ventral side of my, until now, unsexed Poecilotheria formosa, taken through web spattered glass with my phone.

Thanks to that very noticeable epigyne, I am now confident it's a girl. Which means she could last 20 years or more! Am now very much aware that many of my spiders may outlive me. 😱
