One of the guests on the #polycast brought to my attention that #multipotentialites are in the biological term: #Pluripotent Able to adapt to any new environment. Which I thought was genius way of explaining it. After adapting they get formed into that new cell, and become more of a generalist over time.

A chemically defined, xeno-free culture system for culturing and deriving monkey pluripotent stem cells in vitro

Non-human primates (NHPs) have a high degree of similarity to humans compared to other animal models. These similarities manifest at the genetic, physiological, socio-behavioral, and central nervous system levels, making NHPs uniquely suitable for research into stem cell therapy and increasingly used in preclinical trials to test the safety and efficacy of biotechnology therapies.

Scientists find way to wipe a cell's memory to reprogram it as a stem cell

In a groundbreaking study published today in Nature, Australian scientists have resolved a long-standing problem in regenerative medicine.

Study uncovers the secrets of plant regeneration

Plants have the unique ability to regenerate entirely from a somatic cell, i.e., an ordinary cell that does not typically participate in reproduction. This process involves the de novo (or new) formation of a shoot apical meristem (SAM) that gives rise to lateral organs, which are key for the plant's reconstruction.

A Biological Wonder: Harvard Researchers Discover Embryonic Origins of Adult Pluripotent Stem Cells

Stem cells are a remarkable biological wonder that have the ability to repair, replace and regenerate cells. In most animals and humans, stem cells are limited to generating only specific types of cells. For example, hair stem cells will only produce hair, and intestine stem cells will only produce
