Alek@witchescauldron I agree about the "many things to many people", that's the cultural logic of decentralization / federation.
I'm unsure about the "common mindset / ideology" part. I see a lot of posts speaking about a "Mastodon culture". I don't think there is such a thing, and more importantly, a #pluralist ideology would be a lot stronger for further growth of the #Fediverse
it's then of course a good question what is the common ground. I'm not sure. But I'm pretty sure not everyone here is a #FOSS supporter.

I'm a liberal/progressive #Christian who's convinced that God is always, without exception or condition with & for not only all people but all creation. As such, I'm a #pluralist, #environmentalist, #feminist, #LGBTQAlly, & critic of #capitalism. I love talking & brainstorming #theology, and I'm a big fan of the outdoors (trees especially!), movies, books, beer, & food. Life is good, even when we suck at it.
