In these days of good dentistry and poor #teeth, it is interesting to read the summary prepared, under the auspices of the #Plunket Society, of the causes, or some of them, of early dental decay. Mentioned are the following:—Wrong feeding; lack of fresh air; outdoor air and exercise, and other hygienic errors on the part of the expectant mother. (2) Neglect of natural feeding in infancy; (3) excessive consumption of artificial sugars; (4) the almost exclusive use of cereal and farinaceous foods in unduly refined forms—especially foodstuffs consisting of artificial combinations of sugars and starches; (5) the unnatural frequency and irregular times at which these foods are taken; (6) the softness of modern foods; (7) neglect of the use of raw fruit and vegetables; (8) tea-drinking; (9) insufficient daily outing, exercise, and exposure to pure air and sunshine; not enough regularity in rest and sleep, and far too much going to pictures. Anything which undermines the health undermines the teeth.

         MATERNAL MORTALITY
WHAT’S WRONG WITH THE TRUTH ?
           TO THE EDITOR
Sir,—As a registered maternity nurse of Iong standing, I shall be glad if you will kindly let me reply to a portion of Dr. Campbell Begg’s letter….
I am not concerned about “The Medical Association and its critics,” but … I am much interested in the attempt which is being made by the #Health Department and The #Plunket Society to do away with the quite unnecessary dangers to mother and child which are recognised and admitted to exist.
… What we women are frightened about is not merely the things that are being said about the Dominion losing two mothers a week who ought not to die, and allowing many more mothers and many babies who do not actually die to be injured, but the fact that it is so—that so many painful and avoidable deaths and serious injuries are actually taking place all the time in our midst, and that the doctors as a body do not seem willing to face these facts.
  …
Let us all decide to play our individual parts honestly, wholeheartedly, and to the best of our ability…—l am, etc.,

The #Plunket Society is firing the imagination. Its work is being talked about everywhere. A Sydney man … took his passage by the Chinese steamer Ling Nam, a 6000 ton vessel that trades from Hong Kong to Brisbane, Sydney, and Wellington, and then goes on to Panama, afterwards to South America. On the voyage to Wellington he talked with a Chilian [sic] copper-mine manager, who was going back to Chili with his wife. This lady is a Chilian who does not speak English. The conversation one day centred on the Chilian’s baby, and the mine manager said that whilst in Sydney he had tried to get hold of a book by “a man named King” on the feeding and care of #babies, but did not succeed in finding a copy. The Sydney man replied that he thought he had that book, and he made a search for it amongst his luggage, but he could not discover it, and returned to the Chilian to say so, whereupon the Chilian said: “It’s quite all right; there’s a Bolivian lady on board who is returning to her husband, and she has King’s books, and is going to lend them to my wife.” Who can set limits to the fame of the Plunket Society, when Chilians and Bolivians on a Chinese boat are talking about it?https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers/EP19240407.2.133

Heh heh. Sean Plonker has been suspended from Twitter for doxing someone. He's blaming pro-trans people, naturally.

I mean, how foul do you have to be to get booted off the pro-Nazi bird site?

Broadcaster Sean Plunket suspended from Twitter

Screenshots circulating online show the suspension is apparently due to his breaking privacy rules as well as the "hateful conduct rule".

Anyone who remembers Ani O'Brien from her humble beginnings as a toxic TERF on Twitter will enjoy this tale. She had a brief moment of fame working for JuCo, but alas that didn't end well. So she moved to the Platform... toxicity & misinformation in a nutshell.

Ani thought she should be a boss... Sean disagreed. And you'll never guess where that ended up?
