BTW there's one particular point I'd like to add about how capitalism has optimized for leadership by personality-cult: one of the hallmarks of such cults (not all, but some) is that they style themselves as imitation militaries. L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology have their "Sea Org", a relic of Hubbard's rather shambolic career as a minor naval officer in the Second Great War which apparently left Hubbard with a permanent obsession with being regarded as a grand naval leader. The bıgoted #Christian cult known as the Salvation Army is literally an army, an imitation army anyway which enforces a military-style chain of command. If you're a cult leader you can easily appoint yourself a general or an admiral...

...and so it is in capitalism, where any blockhead with a "business education" (or even without one) gets to call themselves an "officer".
