Only because I watch way too much stuff on YouTube, and I very recently watched one of Goose's Gaming Folklore's videos, and he has that specific intro and this is an instance where I can't help by reference it:

I was unbelievably excited when I saw the notification saying that I ranked 1st (out of 12) on this particular time trial on RC De Go!

I apologise for coming across somewhat smug, but racing games are not my bread and butter when it comes to gaming.

Due to the uptake on this game, I don't know how long it will be for this time to be beaten, but based on my own performance and the other times on this board, I can see someone beating this one with a little bit of effort.

RC de Go! By the way, pretty fun little racing game, even if it the championship mode is currently beating me senseless in a back alley.

So, today I learnt that both Densha de Go! And Power Shovel, two PS1 games that had the most ridiculous controllers....

They are part of the Simple1500 series.

I have tried Power Shovel, and it is an absolutely fantastically absurd game. As for Densha De Go! I can see the appeal, but I am a bigger fan of setting transport infrastructure than I am of driving said transport.

Yes, I am aware of the PS1 version of Transport Tycoon. It is currently sitting on my Steam Deck, waiting for me to dive in.

So, the title of this game caught me attention as I was going through the typical list of games I go through. Little did I know what I was opening myself up to.

Danger Girl on #PS1 is game based off a comic series from the late 90s, and the best way my ignorant self can explain this, is it feels like a oversexualised, more sleazy, Charlie's Angels or Totally Spies.

The first cutscene of the game, involving main character Abbey getting changed out of a wet suit, and catching glimpses of her silhouette as she was naked, told me everything I was going to be in for.

Gameplay wise, it is a slightly wonky Tomb Raider style third person shooter complete with auto aim, though I found manually sniping out targets from just outside the render distance works so much better as headshots work as intended.

It's not a terrible game, but it certainly does reek of pandering to horny teenagers.

Oh crud, I am totally behind on #VGMWednesday

Well, for those who don't follow my YouTube channels and Let's Plays (I don't blame you if you don't, I probably wouldn't!) I have recently been playing through the game ...Iru! A PS1 Japanese horror game.

Personally, I love the atmosphere of this game, and I think the soundtrack really helps to add to the unease and constant dread you will have.

This track, in particular, is burnt into my psyche, mostly because I heard it constantly whilst stumbling around trying to figure out where to go.

Mileage will vary on this game. Going in blind can be a but frustrating as you try to find where you need to be to progress the story. You may find yourself aimlessly going into rooms hoping to find the next story beat.

Personally, I had a blast with this game and would recommend this for people who like games like the original Clock Tower, which would be the closest parallel I can think of.
