more people should make stuff for the Playdate!! if you've written it off as a gimmick, you're sadly missing out on an awesome community and great indie games.
the sdk is free, and there's an emulator so you can make things for it without owning one.
it's a striking, 1-bit black and white screen that will surprise the heck out of you with what developers can pull off. coolest of all, most of the games are designed around a crank on the right side of the device.
it feels like tapping into a console from the 90s that was ahead of its time.
rad games to look at:
-Root Bear (https://play.date/games/root-bear/)
-Angel Pop (https://play.date/games/angel-pop/)
-Blippo+ (https://play.date/games/blippo/)
-Mars After Midnight (https://play.date/games/mars-after-midnight/)
-Echo: The Oracle's Scroll (https://play.date/games/echo-the-oracles-scroll/)
-A Balanced Brew (https://play.date/games/a-balanced-brew/)
-Overseer (https://youtu.be/j-eOptGleME?si=oYv00slG1HHKlC-z)
and i didn't even highlight all the amazing puzzle games there are!

I dropped an update for my free #PlaydateConsole game pdblix today!
One of my favorite things about #playdateconsole is how well it fits in your pocket. Well, unfortunately, that means you might accidentally leave it there when you do laundry.
Yeah.
Just released my first game for the Playdate -- a port of the old flash game 'Blix'. I'd be chuffed to bits if you checked it out.
