Beneath the blue surface of the #MediterraneanSea lies a silent threat: abandoned fishing gear, plastic debris, and pollution that suffocates marine life and destroys delicate habitats.❌

The crew aboard the #SeaEagle is hard at work removing deadly octopus traps, and in between finds the time to remove other plastic debris, even balloons, from the Med. Each piece we haul up means one less deadly hazard for octopus, dolphins, turtles, monk seals, and countless other marine creatures.

They work tirelessly in challenging conditions, driven by a shared mission: to protect the ocean and all who call it home.✊

Help us turn the tide. Every action matters, from boycotting single-use plastic, to choosing a plant-based diet. Join us this #PlasticFreeJuly and prevent plastic from entering the ocean in the first place.

Plastic Free July Day 26: Picking Up Litter 🗑️ Here’s why you should pick up litter when you see it.

That wrapper on the street? It might wash into the ocean and break down into microplastics, harming wildlife and entering our food chain. 🐟

We’ve been cleaning up around Abbeydale Road. 👍

Every little bit helps.

Clean streets = clean seas 💚🌊

Get an inside look into a successful, sustainable conference

11 July 2024 It can be problematic to perfectly blend social, environmental and financial goals when organising an academic event, but we think that Chrissy Hammond (University of Bristol) and her co-organisers Lizzie Lawrence, Joanna Moss, Nikki Stevenson and Rabia Sevil rose to the challenge at The Dynamic matrix: mechanics, ageing and repair Conference, a[...] Read More

The Company of Biologists
Plastic is choking our ocean, and the numbers don’t lie. ❌

Each year, over 11 million metric tons of plastic enter the seas, adding to the estimated 200 million tons already circulating through our blue planet.🌊 From microscopic fragments invading plankton, to ghost nets entangling #whales, plastic #pollution infiltrates every level of the ocean’s ecosystem.

Our #ocean — the lungs of the Earth — can’t keep breathing under this plastic wave. It’s time for decisive action to turn the tide and protect the life beneath the waves.

Watch the short film by #ArtistsForSeaShepherd @favio.vinson & @andresgomezorellana ft. @stephanetourreau & @tasnim.jamlaoui and join us during #PlasticFreeJuly. It’s not too late, but we must act now. ⚠️

🛑 STOP using period products that contain HIDDEN plastic 🛑

Disposables like pads and tampons are usually full of plastic, bleach and synthetic fibres, and take 500+ years to break down.

This #PlasticFreeJuly make the switch to something more sustainable.

We stock:
🩸Reusable cloth pads
🩸Menstrual cups
🩸Organic cotton tampons
🩸Organic cotton pads

✨ Different options to suit your flow, comfort, and routine.
