The Department of Agronomy and Horticulture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) is seeking applications for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral research associate. This 12-month (calendar year) special appointment will contribute to Cropping Systems research with a focus on, but not limited to, a nationwide project to develop and regionally adapt precision integrated weed management systems for corn and soybean by conducting common protocol experiments to assess the effects of herbicides and cover crops on subsequent crop and weed populations. This position will be responsible for obtaining high resolution images of weeds and crops at various growth stages to contribute to field-scale testing of weed identification and mapping tools. In addition, several existing crop and weed ecophysiology datasets will be analyzed and prepared for publication.This position will be located in Lincoln, Nebraska, and have an apportionment of 100% research.In addition to the above-described duties, the individual will be expected to accept committee assignments, reporting responsibilities, and other special ad hoc assignments as requested at the administrative unit, college/division, institute, and/or university level.Recognizing that diversity enhances creativity, innovation, impact, and a sense of belonging, the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) and the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture are committed to creating learning, research, Extension programming, and work environments that are inclusive of all forms of diversity.
