Now I am wondering about the possibility of rainbows on Jupiter and Saturn. But observing those would require dropping another Galileo probe in just the right spot.

If we strain the definition, there are rainbow-like reflections in Saturn's rings: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2502.18028

Are there rainbows on other planets? Thanks to Dr. Soto for helping me out on this one!

Final day of the #Rosetta #DustWorkshop. Very nice social dinner (and drinks) last night, but today is going to be a struggle! I will be presenting my #67P thermal modelling results just before lunch, and then leading a spinoff discussion this afternoon - hopefully I can stay awake! #PlanetSci

How many potholes (aka craters!) are on an asteroid?

Thanks to Dr. Chabot, who talked about a human-created crater!

A hilly landscape that looks like spiderwebs when viewed from orbit holds clues to the history of water on ancient Mars.

If you want a spacecraft that might be able to actually fly by something like #3I/ATLAS.

(Although the most likely destination for Comet Interceptor remains a new-to-us long period solar system comet.)

ESA’s Comet Interceptor mission moves up launch

A delay in one European Space Agency mission is creating an opportunity for an earlier, and more capable, launch for another ESA spacecraft.

Enjoying the *very* small bodies in number 3 and 4, and of course you'd expect me to go for the #comet... But actually I love this #PlanetSci image of #asteroid Donaldjohanson with its interesting bilobate shape. Nothing beats seeing a new object up close for the first time!

Another tough #PlanetSci image of the year choice. The Juno #Jupiter pics are beautiful, and of course #Saturn will always be my first (PhD 😃) love, but there's something about this #JWST #Uranus pic... And maybe if it wins there'll finally be an ice giants mission? 😛

Such a difficult choice! The slopes and Deimos at dawn pics are more beautiful, and a moon hovering in front of its planet is always cool, but I love the dynamism of this one! Really looks like #Perseverance is looking over its shoulder at the dust devil chasing it! #Mars #PlanetSci
