Giving #FastMail a try and I like most of the interface. It’s not a screen reader friendly as Gmail but I haven’t come across a lot of unlabeled things yet. The calendar is the most problematic for me but I will never use their interface. I always add calendar things via third party stuff. I do love their #PlainText support though. There is no way to disable wrapping, which bugs me. I always disable line wrapping, word wrapping. It’s a shame they are union busters otherwise I would recommend FastMail. You should know that they have fucking HCaptcha and yes, it appears on every login screen you can think of without a text challenge. They do have an accessibility policy, but it’s not worth linking. Gonna try StartMail next.

Just Grep It

As I continue to move my documents from the cloud and make them platform agnostic by converting them to plain text, I wanted and needed a universal way to search across all my files by tag or content. Since everything is in plain text, there is no reason to over complicate it. I can just grep it.

ZDNet: Microsoft Edge just stopped storing your passwords in plaintext – but you’ll need the latest update. “In a recent post by Microsoft Edge Security Team Lead Gareth Evans, the company announced that it will no longer store your plaintext passwords in Edge in memory. A nice thing about #OrgMode files is that they age quite well.

Notes written years ago are still just #PlainText files I can open anywhere. No export step required, no discontinued service to worry about.

beorg works with the same approach on iOS.
