A century ago, college student Frank McLean Stewart had some hard-earned wisdom to share.

He graduated the next year, 1923, with a degree in agricultural science. He went to work for the American Cotton Association, returned to the farm and, eventually, became Alabama's commissioner of agriculture.

I wonder how many times he told this story when he was a younger man.
