I purposely live without a car on San Juan Island, so the Island Airporter is a convenient way to get to SeaTac. (From there I take the light rail into Seattle.)
Getting to the Friday Harbor ferry landing by 5:00 a.m. makes for an early start to the day. On the plus side, though, the ferry and shuttle are places to knit, and I like seeing first light over Anacortes.

Thursday was cool, overcast, and drizzling, a perfect day for knitting cozy aboard the interisland ferry. Shades of green and gray. Water, land, and sky. Photos through rain-streaked windows, reflections like invading spacecraft. A calm and peaceful place to knit that's not a fluorescent-lit interior room.

For my motherโs birthday I like to do things she might have enjoyed. Yesterday was one of those golden autumn days that was perfect for knitting on the interisland ferry. The sky was magnificent, and my Dignity Cap design sample (size L worsted) is ready for crown decreases. Happy birthday, Mama.

Today in #PlacesYouCanKnit -- the unemployment office. It sounds like the weird dog brush company on my employment record is probably a typo that is getting fixed, but I'm still anxious for it to be done.
Kind of regretting not applying for unemployment sooner: turns out I'm eligible for a lot more money than I realized. Assuming I ever get approved.

The rainbow shawl is not done yet, but it got a few more rows during kiddo's swim class. I wasn't even the only parent waiting with a mask on!
#PlacesYouCanKnit At kiddo's swim lesson. There was a swim meet going on and it was So Loud. Very glad I brought earplugs. Ugh. Sensory hell. Hopefully it wasn't as bad for the kids in the shallow pool.

Sock 1 and sock 2. Definitely getting a solid fall vibe from these colours. Kiddo even let me knit a few rows before he wanted me to run around at the playground too. ๐๐โโ๏ธ
