This small, extravagant dragon of exotic beauty was near the Greek Theater in Syracuse.

As we hiked along the slopes of Mount Etna, we saw several birds flying high above us. It was hard to tell what kind of birds they were. One flew over our heads, and my camera clicked. Later, looking at the photos, I saw it was a falcon holding a small mouse in one paw. The falcon had its mouth open, ready to swallow the mouse.

About 3,000 years ago, when America didn't exist, neither did Chile or Argentina. Back then, southern Chile was a land without an owner, where wind and cold reigned in the mountains and vast plains. Some people walked through those lands; there were no cameras, but they wanted to leave traces of their presence in the Patagonia of southern Chile. Thus, on the rocks of a cliff, they left the imprint of their hands.
These photos were taken years ago during a visit to the Paredón de las Manos archaeological site in Cerro Castillo, Aysén Region, Chile.

One spring afternoon, a gentle breeze stirred the grass, and a mother sheep and her lamb rested on the shore of a small lake. It all seems like poetry to me, poetry I want to capture in a photograph and relive when I'm far away, when I can't feel the wind stirring the grass or see the mother sheep and her lamb.

Can you imagine living in a house with a roof made of seaweed?
On the island of Læsø, located off the coast of Denmark, there are houses with roofs made of seaweed. These roofs are up to a metre thick, and the way they hang over the walls, the house looks like it is wearing a cloak. Apart from their enormous size, they look a lot like straw, but seaweed is much more durable. Some of these roofs are over 300 years old. They are a unique feature of the island of Læsø.

I am from a country of mountains, every cell of my body carries the mountains, I walk them, I dream them and I feel them.
With these three photos that I took on my many hikes through the mountains throughout my country, I celebrate International Mountain Day.

The Camino de Santiago extends to this point and, according to tradition, pilgrims who reach Cape Finisterre burn their clothes and begin their return home. This practice is currently prohibited.

Cape Fisterra, Galicia. The Romans thought that this was the westernmost point of the earth and, therefore, the world ended here.
