So, in case you are unfamiliar with #ShibuyaKei, it was a prominent outgrowth of late 1980s-early 1990s Japanese alt/underground pop music. Perhaps no band is associated with the genre more visibly than #PizzicatoFive, of which I am (of course) a huge fan, and they were certainly the band from the scene that had the most global impact. Nomiya Maki-chan is my #oshi.

J'ai récemment évoqué les albums solo de Keitaro Takanami, de #PizzicatoFive.

Il est toujours actif et a créé l'an dernier le duo Wink Music Service, avec Sally Kubota, alias Soleil (en français dans le texte), dont je n'avais pas de nouvelles depuis ses albums solo complètement 60s de 2018-2020.

Leur single tout récent (qui suit un album de reprises sorti l'an dernier) est donc sans surprise un alliage de #shibuyakei canal historique (le second titre est d'ailleurs une reprise de P5) et de mélodies sucrées 60s inimitables.

Un pur régal.

J'ai évoqué ici il y a quelque temps un très bel album solo récent de Yasuharu Konishi, l'un des membres de #PizzicatoFive.

Je découvre à l'instant le premier album solo de Keitaro Takanami, sorti en 1993 juste avant qu'il ne quitte Pizzicato Five.

La base demeure évidemment #shibuyakei, mais fortement teintée de #sophistipop, d'arrangements #jazz, de réminiscences #kayokyoku, et j'en passe. Le tout en "à peine" moins d'une heure de musique : une absolue merveille. Il faut que j'écoute le reste de sa discographie !

La somme de talents rassemblée au sein de P5 était décidément inégalable.

Et cette pochette incroyable en prime !
