#botd 1921, Pippa joined the SOE following her godmother’s suicide after being imprisoned. 
She parachuted into #OccupiedFrance before #DDay, hiding strips of coding silk inside her shoe laces & to tie up her hair. 
Chatting to German soldiers she learnt then encoded military intelligence which helped guide bombing missions.
