OM ist eine dreiköpfige Experimental-Doom-Metal-Band aus San Francisco, Kalifornien. Die Gruppe wurde 2003 von der Rhythmusgruppe der Band Sleep gegründet und besteht aus Al Cisneros, Emil Amos und Tyler Trotter. Gemeinsam lassen sie sich von einer Vielzahl anderer Einflüsse inspirieren – darunter Psychedelic Rock, Folklore aus dem Nahen Osten, Dub, Reggae und Post-Rock – und integrieren musikalische Strukturen, die tibetischen, byzantinischen und äthiopischen Gesängen ähneln. Ihr Name leitet sich vom hinduistischen Konzept des Om ab, das sich auf die natürliche Schwingung des Universums bezieht.

Tonight: been seriously digging the album from Cowboy Sadness, and they're just as compelling live. Maybe their first show or first in NYC, wasn't clear. The album is called Selected Jambient Works which more or less captures it. Pretty stellar zone out vibes at Pioneer Works.
