Some of today's photos at and near Strumble Head: one of the lighthouse and its adjacent islands, and two of the nearby Porthsychan beach.
The geology hereabouts is mostly pillow lava, formed when lava flows under water, on the seabed. Nothing more remains of the volcano than these lava flows.

Today is #VolcanoThursday during my #hedgewatch'es with my humans on #LaPalma we found not only beautiful #PillowLava (fig1) we also found pillow #breccia (fig2) i.e. broken pillow #lava. MAybe this happend during the large #landslide that formed the #caldera de Taburiente

Today 3D #PillowLava for #VolcanoThursday. Such #lava forms during underwater #eruption's & is often #basaltic. Cold #water causes formation of a skin. Following lava inflates the body until the skin ruptures & forms new pillow's.
