@keikhunari Correct: 4000 blocked by uBO, 859 bypassed it. Most routers lack the RAM/CPU to handle massive lists without slowing down. Mullvad DNS is a 'black box'. You see no logs. With #PiHole, I can see exactly which query leaked and why. You can't whitelist a single site on a generic DNS filter. ​Visibility requires a bit of maintenance, without logs, you're just flying blind.

LibreWolf vs #PiHole: The results are in. 📉

Tested #LibreWolf (stock) + #Quad9 DNS.

Result:
859 extra leaks blocked by Pi-hole after 4000+ uBlock blocks.

Firefox leaked 1150+, LibreWolf 859. Better, but still a massive leak.

The lesson? A 'privacy browser' is just a cleaner window. You still need a solid door like #PiHole to keep trackers out.

@avlcharlie any DNS is great for convenience, but it's a 'black box'. You trust their lists, but you can’t see what’s happening.

Auf dem Raspberry das Overlay Filsystem vergessen. Da muss ich die whitelis/allow noch mal machen. Mann Mann! Meine Mutter sagte immer: Man kann nicht mit dem Bauch und dem Rücken gleichzeitig in der Sonne liege!

My final privacy test is eye-opening 🛡️

Even with a hardened #Firefox (uBlock + Privacy Badger), #PiHole caught 1150+ additional tracking queries that escaped the browser level. With DoH active, these would have leaked silently!

Results:

uBlock: 4000+ blocks (10% of traffic)

Pi-hole: 1150+ extra "leaks" stopped at the gateway.

Proof that 'Layered Defense' is mandatory. Extensions alone aren't enough to stop the noise.
