SHANGHAI (CINA) (ITALPRESS) – Andrea Kimi Antonelli vince il Gran Premio di Cina, secondo appuntamento stagionale della Formula 1 2026. Il pilota della Mercedes, che precede il compagno di squadra George Russell, è il primo italiano a salire sul gradino più alto del podio a vent'anni dall'ultimo successo tricolore targato Giancarlo Fisichella. Terza piazza per la Ferrari di Lewis Hamilton, che vince il duello interno con Charles Leclerc (quarto) e conquista il primo podio dal suo arrivo a Maranello. Quinto posto per la Haas di Oliver Bearman, che precede la Alpine di Pierre Gasly, sesto al traguardo, Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls) e Isack Hadjar (Red Bull), rispettivamente settimo e ottavo. Tantissimi i ritiri prima e durante la gara sul circuito di Shanghai. Le due McLaren di Oscar Piastri e del campione del mondo Lando Norris non partono per problemi tecnici, ma tra le assenti in griglia ci sono anche Bortoleto (Audi) e Albon (Williams). Nel corso dei 56 giri alzano bandiera bianca anche Max Verstappen (Red Bull) e le due Aston Martin di Fernando Alonso e Lance Stroll.

SHANGHAI (CHINA) (ITALPRESS) – Andrea Kimi Antonelli wins the Chinese Grand Prix, the second race of the 2026 Formula 1 season. The Mercedes driver, who leads teammate George Russell, is the first Italian to reach the top step of the podium twenty years after the last tricolor success achieved by Giancarlo Fisichella. Third place for Lewis Hamilton in the Ferrari, who wins the internal duel with Charles Leclerc (fourth) and secures his first podium since arriving in Maranello. Fifth place for Oliver Bearman in the Haas, ahead of Pierre Gasly in the Alpine, sixth at the finish line, Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls) and Isack Hadjar (Red Bull), respectively seventh and eighth. Many retirements before and during the race at the Shanghai circuit. The two McLaren cars of Oscar Piastri and world champion Lando Norris do not start due to technical problems, but also Bortoleto (Audi) and Albon (Williams) are missing from the grid. Il pilota emiliano - a 19 anni, 6 mesi e 18 giorni - diventa il poleman più giovane della storia (battuto il primato di Vettel, in pole a 21 anni, 2 mesi e 11 giorni) e riporta l'Italia al primo posto nelle qualifiche dopo quasi 17 anni: l'ultimo a riuscirci fu Giancarlo Fisichella con la Force India a Spa 2009.
Seconda fila per la Ferrari 
Il 19enne bolognese ferma il cronometro sul tempo di 1'32"064 precedendo di 0"222 il compagno George Russell, rallentato da un problema al cambio e autore di un solo tentativo nel Q3. Seconda fila tutta Ferrari con Lewis Hamilton (+0"351) davanti a Charles Leclerc (+0"364). Seguono le McLaren di Oscar Piastri (+0"486) e Lando Norris (+0"544). The 19-year-old driver from Emilia – 19 years, 6 months, and 18 days old – becomes the youngest pole position holder in history (beating Vettel’s record, who achieved pole at 21 years, 2 months, and 11 days) and brings Italy to first place in qualifying after almost 17 years: the last to achieve this was Giancarlo Fisichella with Force India at Spa 2009.
Second row for Ferrari
The 19-year-old Bolognese stopped the clock at 1'32"064, ahead of teammate George Russell by 0"222, slowed down by a gearbox problem and completing only one attempt in Q3. Verstappen fuori dalle qualifiche per un incidente
Max Verstappen è finito fuori pista, provocando una bandiera rossa. Il pilota della Red Bull aveva segnalato via radio un problema di bloccaggio al posteriore prima dell'incidente. Dopo l'uscita nella ghiaia, l'olandese è riuscito a lasciare l'abitacolo autonomamente. Le sue condizioni non destano preoccupazione, ma la sessione di prove per lui si è chiusa in anticipo. L'interruzione ha fermato momentaneamente le qualifiche per consentire la rimozione della vettura e la pulizia della pista. Il primo Gp stagionale ha regalato quindi subito un inaspettato colpo di scena. 
La sorpresa
In seconda fila c'è un sorprendente Isack Hadjar (Red Bull), terzo a 0"785, davanti a Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), quarto a 0"809. Terza fila tutta McLaren con Oscar Piastri (+0"862) davanti a Lando Norris (+0"957). Solamente settimo Lewis Hamilton con l'altra Rossa, con un ritardo di 0"960 da Russell.
Completano la top ten le Racing Bulls di Liam Lawson (+1"476), Arvid Lindblad (+2"729) e la Audi di Gabriel Bortoleto. Eliminati in Q2 le due Haas di Oliver Bearman, 12esimo, ed Esteban Ocon, 13esimo, le due Alpine di Pierre Gasly, 14esimo, e Franco Colapinto, 16esimo, insieme a Nico Hulkenberg (Audi), 11esimo, e Alexander Albon (Williams). A muro in Q1 Max Verstappen (Red Bull), che va in testacoda in curva 1 finendo poi contro le barriere.
Nessun tempo messo a segno dall'olandese e stesso destino per Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) e Carlos Sainz (Williams), rimasti ai box per problemi di affidabilità. All'esordio in F1 la Cadillac è 18esima con Sergio Perez e 19esima con Valtteri Bottas.

Verstappen out of qualifying for an accident
Max Verstappen ended up off track, causing a red flag. The Red Bull driver reported a rear lock-up issue before the accident. After ending up in the gravel, the Dutchman was able to leave the cockpit autonomously. His condition is not a concern, but the qualifying session for him ended prematurely. The interruption temporarily halted qualifying to allow the car to be removed and the track to be cleaned. The first race of the season therefore immediately delivered an unexpected surprise.
The Surprise
In second row there is a surprising Isack Hadjar (Red Bull), third at 0"785, ahead of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), fourth at 0"809. Third row all McLaren with Oscar Piastri (+0"862) ahead of Lando Norris (+0"957). Only seventh Lewis Hamilton with the other Red Bull, with a delay of 0"960 from Russell.
The top ten are completed by the Racing Bulls of Liam Lawson (+1"476), Arvid Lindblad (+2"729) and the Audi of Gabriel Bortoleto. Eliminated in Q2 the two Haas of Oliver Bearman, 12th, and Esteban Ocon, 13th, the two Alpine of Pierre Gasly, 14th, and Franco Colapinto, 16th, together with Nico Hulkenberg (Audi), 11th, and Alexander Albon (Williams). Max Verstappen (Red Bull) crashed into barrier in turn 1, ending up in a spin in Q1.
No time was recorded by the Dutchman and the same fate befell Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and Carlos Sainz (Williams), who remained in the garage due to reliability issues. In his debut in F1, the Cadillac finished 18th with Sergio Perez and 19th with Valtteri Bottas.
