Il Tempo: Anarchici e l'inchiesta City, le richieste di condanna ai pro Cospito il giorno della bomba

Nello stesso giorno in cui a Roma due militanti dell'area anarchica, Sara Ardizzone e Alessandro Mercogliano, hanno perso la vita in seguito a un crollo nel parco degli Acquedotti, a Torino sono state avanzate le prime richieste di condanna per le 18 persone imputate nel primo filone del cosiddetto processo “City”. Il procedimento riguarda gli incidenti avvenuti durante il corteo del 4 marzo 2023 nel capoluogo piemontese, organizzato in solidarietà ad Alfredo Cospito, allora in sciopero della fame da cinque mesi contro il regime di 41-bis a cui era sottoposto. Secondo quanto si legge sui blog riconducibili all'area anarchica, la procura ha chiesto complessivamente oltre 130 anni di carcere per gli imputati, accusati a vario titolo di devastazione e saccheggio. In particolare, per due persone sono stati chiesti 12 anni, 11 mesi e 5 giorni di reclusione, per altre quattro pene superiori ai 9 anni, mentre per le restanti le richieste superano i 5 anni di carcere. Nel corso della requisitoria, il pubblico ministero ha sottolineato che i manifestanti “usarono violenza contro la polizia per sfasciare e mettere a ferro e fuoco la città”. “Non si trattò – ha proseguito – di una manifestazione in cui s'infiltrarono elementi violenti, ma di una devastazione organizzata”. La sentenza è attesa per il 26 aprile 2026.
Parallelamente al suddetto filone d'inchiesta, è in corso un secondo procedimento a carico di altri imputati per i medesimi fatti, separato dal primo al fine di accelerare i tempi processuali. Durante l'udienza preliminare del 10 marzo, il giudice ha disposto l'archiviazione per alcune persone fermate prima dell'inizio del corteo, escludendo l'ipotesi di reato prevista dall'articolo 115 del codice penale (il cosiddetto “quasi reato”), nonostante il pubblico ministero avesse chiesto di applicare la libertà vigilata. Per altri imputati, invece, è stato disposto il rinvio a giudizio con accuse che comprendono concorso in devastazione, resistenza aggravata e porto di oggetti atti ad offendere. In totale sono 29 le persone per cui è stato chiesto il processo. La prima udienza è stata fissata per l'11 novembre 2026.

On the same day that two anarchist activists in Rome, Sara Ardizzone and Alessandro Mercogliano, lost their lives following a collapse in the Acquedotti Park, the first requests for indictment were made in Turin for the 18 people implicated in the first line of the so-called “City” trial. The proceedings concern the incidents that occurred during the procession of March 4, 2023, in the Piedmontese capital, organized in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito, who had been on hunger strike for five months against the 41-bis regime to which he was subjected. According to blogs affiliated with the anarchist area, the prosecutor requested a total of over 130 years of prison for the defendants, accused of various offenses including vandalism and looting. Specifically, two people were requested to serve 12 years, 11 months and 5 days in prison, for another four, sentences exceeding 9 years, while for the remaining ones, the requests exceed 5 years of imprisonment. During the indictment, the public prosecutor emphasized that the demonstrators “used violence against the police to dismantle and set fire to the city.” “This was not – he continued – a demonstration in which violent elements infiltrated, but an organized devastation.” The verdict is expected for April 26, 2026.

Parallel to the aforementioned investigation line, a second proceeding is underway against other defendants for the same facts, separated from the first in order to accelerate the proceedings. During the preliminary hearing on March 10, the judge ordered the shelving of charges for some people arrested before the start of the procession, excluding the criminal hypothesis provided for in article 115 of the penal code (the so-called “almost crime”), despite the public prosecutor having requested the use of judicial supervision. For other defendants, however, a warrant for trial was issued with charges including conspiracy to commit vandalism, aggravated resistance, and possession of weapons for offensive purposes. In total, 29 people are being prosecuted. The first hearing was scheduled for November 11, 2026.
