#Wgtnfilmsoc opened the year’s programme… 2 full houses for a 50 year old filum about school girls in 1900 getting lost on a rock. I have to say a lump of pride in the throat when SA Film Corporation came up in the opening credits. I was about 10 growing up in Adelaide. It was everywhere at the time of initial release… bloody pan pipes morning noon and night 😂. Amazing to watch… #PicnicAtHangingRock a big 👍 to everyone who turned out to make it feel like a community. And also to the film soc - 80 yrs!

Finished #PicnicAtHangingRock (the book) and went looking to find the movie to borrow.

Ran into the mini series.

Who the hell cast Natalie Cheekbones Dormer as a headmistress who's supposed to be 20 years older, at least 20 kg heavier, and supposed to be the cliched image of an English matronly headmistress (because she lacks the qualifications to be the headmistress!).

Really surprised by that.
