Mollusk family tree helps resolve long-standing evolutionary questions

An international team of experts has resolved long-standing questions about the evolutionary history of mollusks, one of the most diverse zoological groups on the planet. The study, published in Science, reconstructs the family tree of mollusks and provides a genome-based perspective on their evolutionary history.

Arachnid evolution redefined: Whole-genome duplications and multiple land colonizations

A recent paper provides an updated perspective on the evolutionary history of chelicerates—a diverse and ecologically significant group of arthropods that includes spiders, scorpions, mites, and horseshoe crabs.

PhyloSIB, our annual workshop about molecular evolution, phylogenetics, and comparative phylogenomics took place Wednesday in Lausanne as a satellite event preceding Biology25.

15 SIB Groups gave presentations on recent developments in the field. We had a full house with 80 participants. A lively and fruitful open discussion forum concluded the workshop.
