Having an interesting time also with my iCloud Photos backup. Main thing I want is to preserve the folders on the PC as I’ve organised them in the iOS app. It’s doable when the photos sync to iCloud and you download a zip folder from each album.

I realised it had used my phone’s version of the app and synced just one small folder so I stopped the phone from syncing (everything is backed up in two places already, I’m just here for the many folders I made throughout last year on the iPad).

So far the fresh sync has not realised I turned the setting off on the phone. I hope it does but it’s also not urgent, I just had the drive to do it and I like to finish things when I can. It’s a funny thing, tech not playing ball and not knowing why.

The first and only piece of #AppleScript I have written. Very useful: Copy the geographic location metadata of one image in the #macOS #PhotosApp to a selection of other images that lack location information.

Script is available split into two pieces, as alt text in the images.

(Yes, I know Photos has Image>Location>Copy Location and Image>Location>Assign Location. I often find running this script more handy, though.)
