Yesterday, I got #Immich running in a #Docker container on my #Synology. Thanks to a tutorial, the setup was quite straightforward. The indexing is now at a stage where people and places can be assigned. While I can’t fully use all the features yet—since not all my photos have been processed (less than 1TB out of 5TB 😁)—I’m already amazed at how powerful this photo management system is. This is exactly what I’ve always wanted.

On day 8 of my first Japan trip 20 years ago, I took a train from Shinjuku Station to Matsumoto in Nagano Prefecture, where I walked around town and explored the magnificent Matsumoto Castle (one of Japan’s "three great castles" alongside those in Himeji and Kumamoto).

20 years ago, day 7 of my first Japan trip was the last one spent in Tokyo before starting to move west. After visiting the Imperial Palace East Gardens in the morning, I went to Odaiba and checked out the Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation).

On day 6 of my first Japan trip 20 years ago, I went to Kamakura. I got to watch some Kyudo practice at Engakuji Temple, and walked the Daibutsu Hiking Course to arrive at the Big Buddha during the height of cherry blossom season.
