The phrase, #PhilosophyOfFutility, (from Business Literature!) stuck in my mind for years. I came across #StuartEwen's #CaptainsOfConsciousness and saw that the phrase is from #PaulNystrom, "noted business economist". #HelenWoodward and #EdwardFeline also seem like key people in the efforts to trivialize the individual. What else did #DenysThompson have to say about not being "allowed to develop his or her own potentialities."

> .. the corporations.. have a goal for.. the population. They have to be turned into completely mindless consumers of goods that they do not want. You have to develop what are called "#CreatedWants". So you have to create wants. You have to impose on people what's called a #PhilosophyOfFutility. You have to focus them on the insignificant things of life, like fashionable consumption. I'm just basically quoting #BusinessLiterature.

Quotes from "The Corporation"
