Back from 12 awesome days of backpacking in #Philmont. It was great to go to sleep in my own (flat - no slopes!) bed last night without having to toss my smellables (eg toothpaste) in bear lineβs βoopsβ bag.

Final #Philmont Preparation Trek: 30 miles in 3 days, going from the Mill Brook Road trailhead for the Appalachian Trail to High Point State Park in NJ.
It included an 11-mile day (Saturday) and a 13-mile day (Sunday). The crew did well on a tough trek featuring awesome views and a lot of rocks (though, ahem, not as many rocks as Pennsylvania).
Now relaxing with a beer, a book, and a Mets game.
