Me fascinan los ojos del grillo de matorral porque no parecen los de un insecto. Aunque no sea realmente así parece que tengan pupilas y cuenca ocular.

Mich faszinieren die Augen der Laubheuschrecke, weil sie nicht wie die eines Insekts aussehen. Sie sehen aus, als hätten sie Pupillen und eine Augenhöhle, obwohl sie das nicht haben.

Un grillo de matorral se calienta al sol tras la muda. Ha dejado colgado bajo la hoja su anterior exoesqueleto como un viejo traje. Detrás se ven los restos de la muda de otro grillo.

Eine Laubheuschrecke wärmt sich nach der Häutung in der Sonne. Sie hat ihr ehemaliges Exoskelett wie einen alten Anzug unter dem Blatt hängen lassen. Dahinter sind die Überreste der Häutung einer anderen Grille zu sehen.

I shot this photo of an adult scrub cricket (Phaneroptera falcata) on the flower of a Pontederia cordata. Only when I got home did I realize that next to it there was also a nymph of the same species with those very long antennae up to four times the body length.

Disparé esta foto de un grillo de matorral adulto (Phaneroptera falcata) sobre la flor de una Pontederia cordata. Sólo al llegar a casa me di cuenta de que a su lado también había una ninfa de la misma especie con esas larguísimas antenas de hasta hasta cuatro veces la longitud del cuerpo.

Ich habe dieses Bild von einer erwachsenen Laubheuschrecke (Phaneroptera falcata) auf der Blüte einer Pontederia cordata aufgenommen. Erst als ich nach Hause kam, bemerkte ich, dass daneben auch eine Nymphe derselben Art mit diesen sehr langen Fühlern, die bis zu viermal so lang wie der Körper sind, zu sehen war.
