Obwohl Albrecht Dürer als Künstler hoch geschätzt wird – und das völlig zu Recht –, gilt mein Interesse vor allem seinem druckgrafischen Werk. Dieses macht ihn zu einer der frühesten und bedeutendsten Persönlichkeiten Europas, die man durchaus auch als Illustrator bezeichnen kann. Seit meiner Jugend bin ich von seinem Werk fasziniert, und dies ist meine längst überfällige Hommage an ihn und sein Talent.
