**We have the power and are claiming it together.*
In large enough numbers, we are capable of restoring democracy and halting the looting and dismantling of our country by incompetent, deeply unpopular would-be autocrats who wish to be kings.
What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to authoritarianism, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement has continued to grow, and on March 28th, we will make clear that we are capable of organizing on a scale not yet seen in this country.
It is important not only to have very large events in city hubs, like Boston, but also to have growing participation in communities of all sizes across the country, so our presence is impossible to ignore. We have planned our event in Waltham to occur prior to Boston's event, so that it is possible to attend both if desired.
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*

Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy — and right now, they’re under threat. Across the country, Trump and MAGA-controlled state legislatures are taking unprecedented steps to redraw Congressional maps — without voter approval — to rig upcoming elections. As Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, and soon Florida move forward, Virginians and all Americans face the real risk of having their voices diminished in Washington by the increase in Republican members of Congress.
In response to these Republican efforts, California voters approved a temporary constitutional amendment to suspend their redistricting committee and redraw their Congressional districts to increase Democratic seats.
On April 21, Virginians will have the same opportunity to temporarily suspend their redistricting law, adopt a map with 4 additional Democratic Congressional seats and counterbalance Republican redistricting in red states.
In VA, Swing Blue Alliance has worked closely with local Democratic committees to identify voters who are likely to vote YES if they vote, and has designed a postcard with a clear message about what is at stake and when and how to vote.
Postcards are easy to write: they only require a short, handwritten message and placement of an address label and stamp on the card. A packet of 25 cards costs $5.50 including tax. You will need to separately purchase postcard rate stamps ($0.61 each).
Return completed cards, address sheet, and batch # to one of our porch host within one week of pickup - and no later than April 4.
