Excellent timing on my part: there was a forecast for possible rain and thunderstorms and I wanted to get out to get some mowing done.
Literally the moment I finished putting on sunscreen (grudgingly put some on lightly, since sun could come out between cloudy bits, but I hate the goopy stuff and washing it off when I come in, esp on face)-- the rain started, followed promptly by thunder. Wow-- a few rumbles of thunder and pouring hard now, just after dark after 11pm-- with no forecast of rain or thunderstorms-- we usually check weather for Rocky Mountain House to the 30 km west, just a few clouds forecast there, Red Deer 60km east had a 30%chance-- guess we got theirs! It's been #windy for hours with severe #thunderstorm watch for the area (less than a warning, just means conditions exist). Just started raining, and the #toad in the #RockGarden in front was singing praises to #RainMother - maybe also begging #Perkuns (#ThunderGod) to hold off on hail. I'll second his prayers!

Well, I got a couple of hours outside- taking pics of #flowers and #critters . #Perkuns (#Latvian thunder god) was making noise and #RainMother even got things a little damp as sun/clouds alternated.
