Using @torproject / Tor is still an necessity in 2026 to have useable Mobile Internet in Germany.

  • Even if you don't care about privacy.
  • Even if you "have nothing to hide".
    • And believe that cyberfascist bs!
  • Even if you have "unlimited" data.

Because EDGEland still sucks!

  • And we still have no decent mobile networks!

At least @guardianproject never stopped maintaining Orbot!

It's really sad to see EDGEland being still as dogshit-slow as Iridium Certus!

  • Yes this is without overuse of my quota.
  • Yes, Tor still acts as Performance Proxy, otherwise it would not download at all.

Shit really regressed in my absence...

Unlike say @torproject 's #TorBrowser which is a modified #FireFox...

#Vivaldi, like #Brave, don't add value.

#Opera's #Presto engine was good and #OperaMobile added a #VPN and #OperaMini a #PerformanceProxy for convenience to it.

@dsfgs @torproject I didn't have any of these issues before and I'be been using #TorBrowser and #Orbot for over 13 years now on different mobile devices.

In fact, I'd rather experienced #Orbot to work like a #PerformanceProxy on throttled connections...

@nick @mho ich mag @Tusky vorallem deshalb weil's wie das originale #TweetDeck #mobile und später #Twidere / #TwidereX von @mariotaku clean, effizient und auch auf #EDGEland - #Mobilfunk zuverlässig funktioniert.

Etwas was #Twitter bis heute nicht kann!

PS: @torproject #Orbot wirkt oft als #PerformanceProxy bei #2G / #EDGE...
