Some #socialworkers really need a #realitycheck .
“What positive thing can you take from the fact that you are #food #insecure and face the possibility of #homelessness and lack the means to properly #care for yourself?”
In theory that might have value. But facing those problems in actual reality is certainly not a “kumbaya” or “just reframe your thinking” kinda moment. I mean, it could be worse, but should the #aspiration really only be “It could be worse than what I suffer right now”?
And it actually insults the people who #suffer under those circumstances because it suggests that those people could be better off, if they only #perceived those issues differently.
