Angeblich durfte sich die Jugend auf dieser Sitzgelegenheit keusch beschnuppern, bevor die Ehe von den reichen Familien arrangiert wurde.

It's a tête-à-tête I saw in the Pinang Peranakan Mansion in George Town, #Malaysia. Apparently, the young folk were allowed to chastely get to know one other on this piece before their filthy-rich families arranged their marriages.
