I seek Native American / American Indian input on a personal project and set of social campaigns that aim to resolve the political-philosophical tensions of and paralogical gaps within and between several projects of my own --- projects that, I hope, lend credibility to a tentative campaign of my own for local, state, and federal offices over the course of the next thirty years. If you, or someone(s) you know are Native American, indigenous to North America, or an American "Indian", please reach out and/or direct those persons to me. I seek to honor personal and cultural autonomy while practicing the principles of plurality and inclusion: our diversity _is_ our equity.

Although there is a lot of horrible stuff in the world that you can’t change, if you focus only on what you have no power to change, it’s futile. When you feel angry, disgusted, outraged, or anxious, find something you can do about the problem, focus your angry energy on that, even if it’s something small.

I can’t change that my country’s economy is reliant on stolen phosphate from Africa’s last colony. (And that before that, we went through Nauru and Barnaba island) I can’t fully boycott NZ farms, nor do I want to. I also can’t forget it and ignore it while 170,000 Sahwari refugees starve. I can grow my own #vegetables using #organic and permaculture methods, without using (environmentally unideal) superphosphate; and I can promise I will never shut up about why I’m doing it. I’m going to use the hashtag #MyGardenProtest and post my updates as I aim to produce up to 90% of my family’s vegetables.

I’m also going to link some more information on the Sahwari conflict to this hashtag to raise awareness.

Michaela and I were grossed out to learn the other day that #NewZealand imports stolen phosphate from #WesternSahara, which has most of its land controlled by their neighbours in #Morocco, and their ancestral land is filled with mines and weapons sold to Morocco by #Israel, which of course were tested first on the people of #Palestine. This phosphate is used to prop up our #agriculture industry in the form of fertiliser. As such we have decided to greatly increase the production potential of our #home #garden, when it comes to #fruit and #vegetable #crops. If anyone in #Wellington or #LowerHutt area (or nearby) wants to #swap #plants with us to help us #grow our garden more quickly, let me know! (Please boost so I can get more coverage)

Permaculture Education Institute

After a lot of behind the scenes organising, we have just opened up booking for our 12th annual Permaculture Design course.

The updated format now takes place at three main venues in Ireland, along with several other short site visits.

We cover the full PDC curriculum (certificate issued by UK Perm Assoc), with a strong focus on peoplecare in how we run the course.

Permaculture Design Course (PDC) | Carraig Dulra

Permaculture Design Certificate course (PDC) After 12 years of PDC’s in Carraig Dúlra, and 3 years in Roscommon, we are embarking on something fresh and new this year. In branching out and putting the best of both courses and locations, along with new partner Common Knowledge, together in 2025, we are offering an even more diverse multi venue PDC programme! #Permaculture has a #liberalism problem, and Parkrose is a near-perfect example of it. How else does someone live in #Portland, one of the most #anarchist cities in the #US, and the best org they can find to join is Indivisible? There is no way for #SocialPermaculture and #PoliticalPermaculture, with the ethics of #PeopleCare and #FairShare, to lead to liberalism without major underlying failures in its analysis. How is #SocialEcology not a requisite of permaculture?
Hot take. The most #ableist, #biased, and #bigotted opinions I have heard in my life have come from people who believe they have expertise in #medicine and #healthcare or profess belief in #PersonalResponsibility above other #collective #values, such as #CommunityCare, #BelovedCommunity, #PeopleCare, and #governance.
#Ability #Disability #DisabilityJustice #Health #wellness #Kindness
The US #election politics are distracting from the organizing that we need to do to create #PeopleCare and #EarthCare and #FairShare. ... I am feeling grief over #Palestine and #Sudan and #extinction and the #climateCrisis. #ThankYou for our continued #Resistance to #colonialism and #capitalism. I am grateful for our revelations and our #building a new world.
Let's keep renewing our hopes and dreams for a #SolidarityEconomy #Beauty #Love #RegenerativeFutures #Emergence

When we returned ~45 mins later, our locks had been snipped thru & his #bike was gone 😞. We met so many nice people on our holiday, many of whom helped us after the disastrous theft.
Isn't it sad that those nice helpful people fall into the background of our memory & this 1 person, a minority of those we met, had such a negative effect.
Praps we should try to remember & appreciate the good things a little more

I think that there are relatively few people (in comparison with the large number of people around) who do malicious acts, but these are the ones we remember.
My partner & I cycled to a beautiful Italian city & locked our bikes with 2 sturdy locks to a decorative fence in the middle of the city centre.
