Custom-built Pentium 4 computer
#TIL I learnt that (all?) #Pentium4 CPU from Intel had a 64-bit feature but fused off for purely business reasons. I wonder whether 20 years later one will be able to bridge the fuse back with some ion beam or other nifty bleeding edge devices that are slowly coming to the realm of small labs.
Who would be the first hardware nerd to run CPU-Z on such a cursed x86_64 CPU?

@CondeChocula coooorrecto, el eslabón perdido entre los #pentium4 y los #core2duo. (Ni el tato sacuerda de ellos).
Básicamente son 2 Pentium4 a pelo embutidos en un chip 😈
Articles about some unlovely middle-aged-bytes.
Between the #i820, #RDRAM, the first-gen #Pentium4, and the #CapacitorPlague, I'm glad I wasn't yet into system building in the early aughts.
Reading a #computer #architecture textbook from 2006 for #nostralogic reason.
The book: "Computer Architecture
A Quantitative Approach 4th edition" by John L. Hennessy and David A. Patterson.
Got this oldy but goody up and running today, even with activated windows XP (by calling the phone number lol) and drivers for audio and the fx5200
My #PC circa 19 years ago. Note the advanced airflow of having the hard drive outside of the case. The microphone mounted on the other side of the case with up and down maneuvering. The GOAT keyboard: #Dell #Quietkey. An #MX518 mouse in its heyday. #Firewire capabilities. #Pentium4 Inside. A #Microsoft #sidewinder controller. What a time to be alive
