The angle on this corner cabinet is not the same as the p2 angle, so that saves me any temptation in putting it to use in the kitchen. #PenroseKitchenTiles
A few months ago, I had some coasters made to match our kitchen. #PenroseKitchenTiles
#PenroseKitchenTiles sealed and drying, on to the rest of the projects...
#PenroseKitchenTiles It's been a long journey since we first started planning this last year. Production began in September 2022, and they are grouting and sealing now. I hope to write a more complete account of the entire process one day.
#PenroseKitchenTiles All tile is laid, now time for grouting
@saraislet @sophieschmieg have to look back in the hashtag #PenroseKitchenTiles but we bought a pug mill and it extrudes the terracotta (local clay from Alligator Clay), then we had some custom tile cutters made which have a little thing which helps push the cut tile out. It has to dry for about a week (shelves and shelves of drywall in bakers racks), then we can fire about 160 tiles in the kiln per firing. Then they are sealed. We hired a helper to do almost all this, @ScottColesbyJr
#PenroseKitchenTiles So for this final stretch, I forked from this repo https://github.com/sarahmarshy/PenroseGenerator which uses the Robinson triangles. I changed it not to put only the borders on the triangles that match the boundaries of the kites and darts.

#PenroseKitchenTiles ok, it's starting.
#PenroseKitchenTiles Albert's on the scene for every loading and unloading
#PenroseKitchenTiles Still firing - at this point we are firing round the clock and not getting losses. Within the next few weeks, I guess we should start to see them laid in place, and I'll be able to share that. 3 bathrooms with other purchased tile will come first. In the meantime, Scott preps the dry tile ready for firing and he or Molly empty and reload the kiln and restart it. We do also need to seal the fired tile, because it is not vitrified or glazed like porcelain.
