“My brain, on anxiety” pen on paper. Is anxiety a drug? It certainly has an addictive quality to it, and once you’ve given in to anxious thoughts, it can be terribly difficult to let go of them. It scrambles the brain and tarnishes moments. Our society feeds it in us and keeps us bound and unfocused. If only we could easily let it go.

“Attention deficit” pen on paper. I’ve always struggled focusing on one thing at a time, and when I am forced to, often by convention, my mind wanders endlessly. If that happens when talking with someone I always feel so guilty, as it does not mean I do not find what they say interesting. In a way this struggle to focus, while thoughts wander freely, also binds the mind to a different kind of prison, where what you want to listen to can never be fully absorbed.

“Re-watching Buffy” pen on paper. Maybe a bit of an odd subject for an illustration but I drew this while re-watching Buffy the vampire slayer for the umpteenth time. It was my favourite show growing up, and I will forever want to be Buffy when I grow up even though I am in my late thirties.

"Flowers" pen on paper. This drawing reflects my fascination with chaotic, wild nature.
Being French I come from a culture of overly manicured plants and gardens and I always felt much more drawn to an environment left to grow wild. This is one of the first drawings I gave to someone. It currently hangs in my mother's home office, my old bedroom.
