A multimillionaire dies and leaves his entire fortune to his dog, who is promptly poisoned. The dog's spirit is sent back to earth as a private eye to solve his murder and is accompanied by the spirit of a race horse as his wise-cracking female sidekick. They have until the full moon or they stay on Earth as humans.
