L'initiative "Review Commons" qui sera présentée (et que je découvre avec cette annonce) me fait penser au dispositif #PeerCommunityIn. Hâte d'en savoir plus pour situer l'un par rapport à l'autre (si pertinent...!)

Peer-reviewed preprints and the Publish-Review-Curate model | Plan S

The traditional scientific publication model, characterized by gate-keeping editorial decisions, has come under increasing criticism. Opponents argue that it is too slow, opaque, unfair, lacking in qualifications, dominated by a small group of individuals, inefficient, and even obsolete. In response to these critiques, two alternatives have gained traction: peer-reviewed preprints and the Publish-Review-Curate (PRC) model […]

Recently, Alexandra Elbakyan, the founder of Sci-Hub, published the Declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge https://open.science.do/ (in Russian). 🔍 Through platforms like #PubPeer, we've seen the power of post-publication discussion in enhancing the credibility and depth of scientific research. #PeerCommunityIn has revolutionized the review process, making it a community-driven endeavor rather than a commercial one. Meanwhile, #PREreview has democratized preprint assessments, empowering researchers, especially those at the early stages of their careers, to partake actively in the scientific dialogue.

Peer Community in Organization Studies - launch week

We are pleased to invite you to the launch week of Peer Community in Organization Studies (https://orgstudies.peercommunityin.org), the latest born of Peer Community In, an open science non-profit initiative organized by researchers from multiple disciplines. PCI Org Studies is an open access, interdisciplinary, collaborative, international community whose aim is to review and recommend preprints in work, organizing and organizations, and to contribute to recent efforts in building a more transparent, inclusive and fair research system that is not hidden behind paywalls. Why PCI Organization Studies? - We are a community, not a new journal - We are transparent, collaborative, open, peer-reviewed and entirely free - We are independent from commercial publishers - We allow researchers to regain control of the review and publishing system Want to learn more about this open science initiative? Come and join us online: you will hear from the founders of PCI and PCI Org Studies! 3 dates with different time zones: - 22nd of May 8am EET (Cairo), 9am GMT (Istanbul), 10am MST (Port Louis), 11.30am IST (Kolkata), 2pm CST (Beijing), 3pm JST (Kyoto), 4pm AEST (Melbourne), 6pm NZST (Wellington) - 23rd of May 8am CDT (Mexico City), 9am EDT (New York City), 2pm WAT (Yaounde), 3pm CEST (Madrid), 4pm EEST (Kyiv), 6.30pm IST (Kolkata) - 30th of May 8am CDT (Mexico City), 9am EDT (New York City), 2pm WAT (Yaounde), 3pm CEST (Madrid), 4pm EEST (Kyiv), 6.30pm IST (Kolkata) Peer Community in, what is it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PZhpnc8wwo Description of Peer Community in Organization Studies: In the context of profound transformations towards more open and free science, Peer Community In (PCI) is a non-profit organization of researchers offering peer review, recommendation and publication of scientific articles in open access for free. PCI allows thematic communities of scientists to self-organize, to regain control of the scientific publication process and disconnect it from financial issues. PCI receives strong institutional support because the current publishing system entails a considerable financial burden for institutions. PCI wants to refocus scientific quality on articles rather than on journals. PCI is attentive to equity and inclusion at all steps of the process of scientific article evaluation. PCI focuses on bringing more people underrepresented in academia. We are proud to announce the launch of PCI Organization Studies, the first social sciences community from PCI. We will evaluate preprints, and to some extent postprints, dealing with all fields of organization studies and in particular with work, organizing and organizations. We invite scholars from all disciplines dealing with organization studies to join us and participate in this open science initiative, by submitting contributions, by reviewing them and by becoming a recommender (equivalent of an editor). Fair APC are lower than 1000€
#SciPost and #PeerCommunityIn make them real

Stop paying excessive APC https://twitter.com/scipost_dot_org/status/1408110793888047104

Researchers are paying more and more APC to publish!

When journals require APC (Open Access publication fees) from the author or his institution, it is strongly advised to stay within reasonable amounts and not to exceed the €750 fee ("Fair Gold"), the maximum amount granted by the F.R.S-FNRS for this type of publication. Beyond 750€, it is " Unfair Gold ".

Want to take it up a notch? Well, you can also refuse to publish in #Elsevier journals (e.g. #Cell #TheLancet, #TREE), reducing their capacity to #profit off #AcademicPublishing and of giving money to the #FossilFuel industry. Thankfully, tons of diamond open access alternatives now exist to allow you to publish your peer-reviewed research for free and #OpenAccess, like the @PeerCommunityJournal: https://peercommunityjournal.org/ 4/n
